Join us the first Saturday of the month in Montrose High Street and the second Saturday in Forfar indoors at the Mart.

The market allows you to purchase fresh local produce direct from the producers in a friendly, relaxing environment. Eating seasonal produce has fantastic benefits - buy in season, taste is the reason.

Resident Chef
The Forfar Market is lucky to have a fantastic resident chef, Hayley Wilkes. Hayley is passionate about cooking with local produce and demonstrates each month at the Forfar market, creating great recipes using market produce. All Hayley's recipes are available to try at home - Recipes. made at market

Hayley runs the WeeCookies Club, a popular club for children visiting the market who are interested in cooking. Hayley invites visiting children to help her prepare the food during the market - definitely fun for all the family.

The Farmers' Market is the perfect place to speak to the people that are not only selling you the product but are the people that look after the animals with care and pride.

What's on in 2014

Each year there are special markets to allow visitors to get the most out of seasonal produce and celebrate certain times of the year. The Spring Market takes advantage of the range of delicious spring vegetables available, the Summer Market focuses on our wonderful soft fruits. In September there's the Taste of Angus Festival and in December of course the ever popular Christmas Market allowing visitors to buy ingredients for their Christmas meals and also pick up an unusual gift handmade by a local crafter.
